Education

We are empowering the vulnerable with baseline education, vocational skills, and career training to create self-sustaining futures and generational change.

Enabling Personal Growth Through Education

Primary

Although India provides free public education, our partners have informed us that most parents utilize private education if they are able, since the quality is far superior. Public education varies from state to state and is not always taught in English. Teachers are under-qualified and standards are low. According to the national survey of India, almost 14,910 public schools were closed or merged in India during the last administration of 2019–2024. Because of these factors, we are committed to funding private education for as many orphans as possible.

Secondary

In secondary education, grades 11 and 12, students choose from one of two tracks: an arts track or a science / technology track. These tracks open further opportunities for undergraduate work.

University

Many students who successfully complete 11th and 12th grades and pass an exam become eligible for free scholarships from the government of India to attend university. Because of this, we want to ensure that they have the opportunity by funding their secondary education. For those who are not eligible for scholarships, our hope is that as donations increase we can help support these students throughout their post-secondary university education.

Vocational

Not every student will have the opportunity to enter university. There are, however, vocational schools in many areas and also apprenticeships that students can take advantage of to learn trades. As the orphans we support approach the age where their future earning opportunities are coming into view, we want to help support those who have an aptitude for working in skilled trades or other vocations.

Creating Self-Sustaining Futures

Two Indian widows in blue traditional dress

Hope Givers United believes that a brighter future is rooted in dignity and self-sufficiency. By funding professional training, such as the full sponsorship of women like Mary and Sulochana through nursing school, we provide the skills necessary for them to earn money, secure economic independence, and ultimately provide loving care for their children, elderly parents, and vulnerable community members. We don't just provide charity; we invest in lifelong vocations that stabilize families and empower women as leaders.
