Building Projects
Hope Givers United helps build safe housing for widows and orphans. We also assist with constructing multi-use church facilities that impact communities.
A Brick-by-Brick Approach

Construction of the second floor of New Covenant Church, Bapatla is nearing completion and will house the church.
Churches
Our partners in India live very sacrificially in order to meet the needs of the poor in their communities. These pastors and their families often do without to make sure that others don’t have to. Because their own individual practical service to others extends far beyond the bounds of their physical churches, we are happy to in turn support their building infrastructure needs.
For example, some church sanctuaries have become temporary homes for those who have no place to live. One church we have been helping to build intends to transform the first floor of the building into a communal home for widows. Church grounds have also supplied resources like potable water when the municipality is unable to provide any. Churches also host events such as summer camps for children. These multi-purpose churches are thus beneficial in many ways to their villages and towns, and we are happy to support their construction and maintenance.

New Covenant Church, Bapatla has been meeting on the first floor of the new church building throughout construction.
The finished first floor of the church will become a communal home for widows.

Strong Homes for Strong Futures
Many of the widows that we and our partners serve live in huts, which are affected by extreme weather, particularly the summer monsoons, and need to be repaired periodically. We want to build safe, sturdy homes that will allow our widows to live in better conditions in a more dignified and sustainable way. For those who have been living in rented homes, having a home of their own will decrease their living expenses, allowing more money for quality food, clothing and medical care.

This is the home of the widow Miriyamma in the aftermath of the monsoons in 2025. Hope Givers United has completed construction on a solid home for her that was begun by someone else but never finished.Through your financial support and our in-country partners, we have been able to provide Miriyamma with a stable, permanent structure that will withstand the rigors of the monsoon season as well as daily life in India. These building projects ensure that the widows and orphans can continue to rise out of their impoverished living conditions in order to thrive.
